Your day will begin with a scenic drive down the Trans Canada Highway #1.We will make a brief stop in Duncan to grab snacks and picnic items for the day. Duncan is known as The City of Totems, this presents us with an iconic Canadian photo opp with these enormous carvings depicting ancient aboriginal history and stories.
On route to Port Renfrew we will pass Lake Cowichan, this is a small town on a HUGE lake (Second biggest on Vancouver Island). Past Cowichan Lake we will start to see some pretty big trees. Around Port Renfrew we will have the opportunity to see Canada’s largest Spruce Tree, the world’s largest Douglas Fir tree and Canada’s Gnarliest tree. Dinner will be roasted over a camp fire and completed with S’mores.
This day is full of hiking trails and pure fresh air. Be sure to bring your camera and good sturdy shoes.
